Our Soy Wax is also available in these cute Irish coffee mugs.  These are 8.5 ounces and burn for 40 hours.  The best part is, since our wax is food grade, once the candle is gone, you can remove the wick, run it through the dishwasher, and use it as a cup!  $8 each.  You can order these in any fragrance from our page, but we recommend hazelnut cappuccino, hot cocoa, peppermint hot cocoa, mulled wine, egg nog, red velvet cake, strawberry shortcake, pumpkin latte, cherry chocolate parfait, or cinnamon holiday.

Available in cotton wicks only.

WHY SOY WAX???

Soy candles are made from soy wax, which is hydrogenated soybean oil. Soy wax was invented in 1992 by Michael Richards who was looking for a cheaper alternative to beeswax. As he entered the candle industry he realized there was a growing demand for natural wax candles.

ADVANTAGES OF SOY CANDLES

Soy candles are cheap - Beeswax is a great natural alternative to paraffin, but to get the same results as a soy-based candle, it is very expensive. Soy wax is a new alternative to paraffin wax that is cost effective. Soy wax is also made from a renewable source.
Soy wax is all-natural - Soy wax is a favorite of environmentally conscious people because it is not made from petroleum, like paraffin candles. Burning of soy candles does not increase the CO2 level in the atmosphere.  They are also technically edible, so you do not need to call poison control if a child or dog eats any wax by accident.  (do not eat wax on purpose!)
Soy candles last longer - They can last up to 50% longer than paraffin candles.  Our mason jar candles burn about 60 hours!
Wax spills are easy to clean - It's very difficult to remove paraffin wax from furniture or textiles. Soy wax spills can easily be cleaned up with hot soapy water.  We don’t add any color to our wax tarts to ensure easy clean-up of spills.
Soy candles produce less soot - Soot should be avoided because it is unhealthy and can eventually coat furniture and walls. Soy candles produce about 90% less soot that paraffin candles.
Scented soy candles distribute more fragrance - The incorporation of soybean oil lowers the melting point of the candle, which translates into cooler burning candles and faster scents dispersion. The lower melting point of soy wax results in a larger size of the liquid wax pool around the candle wick. It is from this liquid wax pool that the fragrance evaporates into the atmosphere.  Soy wax can also accept more fragrance before breaking down, so the fragrance lasts longer in tarts because the fragrance is a higher concentration than paraffin tarts can maintain.

More About Paraffin Toxicity

Paraffin is a byproduct of petroleum, a non-renewable resource. And while it might seem obvious, many people don’t realize that inhaling the fumes from paraffin candles is not good for your health. According to a study done at South Carolina State University in 2009, the fumes from paraffin candles are still linked to cancer, birth defects and such respiratory ailments as asthma, especially when there are many of them burning in an enclosed space like a restaurant or church.

After it’s scraped out of oil refineries, paraffin wax is usually: bleached by adding dioxin and other poisonous chemicals; texturized with acrolyn (a known carcinogen); and then mixed with animal-based stearic acid (a nasty byproduct of the meatpacking slaughterhouses) to harden it so that it can be made into candles. When paraffin candles burn, they emit black soot and toxic fumes—similar in chemistry to diesel exhaust—containing poisonous chemicals such as benzene, toluene, naphthalene, tri-decane, tetra-decane, penta-decane, and hexadecane. Unfortunately, the FDA doesn’t require candle makers to list the ingredients in candles, so you never really know what you’re burning.

Paraffin wax candles are cheaper for unsavory reasons. One reason is because the petroleum industry is heavily subsidized, so its sludge waste—the raw material known as paraffin—is basically free. The other reason they’re so cheap is that most of those little tea lights and votives are imported from China, where they are made in sweatshops by people earning the equivalent of $2 a day. Something else to consider is that those Chinese sweatshops have no environmental or health regulations, so we really don’t know what’s being mixed in with that paraffin.

But even in the unlikely event that you find cheap paraffin candles made in America that have no additives, scientists still warn against the dangers of their fumes.

SOY WAX CANDLES & TARTS

This size started it all—our original offering in soy wax.  These pint mason jars are filled with 14 ounces of wax that burn for approximately 80 hours.  They will be scented in the fragrance or essential oil of your choice when you order.  You may choose a regular cotton wick or wooden wick and the color as you prefer.  Colors are approximations and will vary slightly from one batch to the next.  $11 each, or $10 each if you purchase 2 or more.  The wood wicks make a cute crackling noise and burn stronger due to the bigger flame, but also shorten burn time somewhat.

Sold in 2 ounce uncolored divisible bricks, perfect for mixing and matching to create your own scents!  Use in any tart warmer, whether electric or tea light.   $2 each when purchased in person.  Compare to Scentsy brand, but ours are all natural. Available in any scent!

These pure soy wax candles with all natural cotton wicks burn for about 50 hours (9.5 ounces). The thick square glass has clean classy lines to go with any decor.   They are $8 for one color or $9 for multiple colors as shown.

Don’t forget about our refill program!  Only 50 cents per ounce, and better for the environment.  Available to all local customers—especially great for home parties and candle-aholics!!

These votives must be put in a container to burn. They are not designed to burn free standing. They are 1.75 ounces each and burn for at least 10 hours.  They are $4 per pack, but if you buy 5 packs, you get a 6th one free!

Don’t forget about our guarantee—all candles can be returned for replacement or refund if you are not satisfied for any reason.

These 3 wick cylinder candles are 11 ounces of wax that burn for approximately 60 hours.  Available in any of our scents and colors and are $9 each if they are one color, or $10 each if you would like multiple colors.  (Red velvet cake is shown, but any scent and color is available)

These make excellent gifts!  But if it isn't a gift, you could save 50 cents per candle if you tell me to skip the bow / info card.  That applies to all the candle sizes over 8 ounces.

These 3 wick cylinder candles hold 20 ounces of wax that burn for approximately 120 hours.  Available in any of our scents and colors and are $13 each if they are one color, or $14 each if you would like multiple colors.  (Lilac is shown, but any scent and color is available)

Don’t forget, we will make ANY combination of fragrance and color!  I have made lilac scented candles colored in pumpkin because someone wanted it to match their living room, but still wanted their favorite scent.   I can’t do neon colors, but otherwise you want it, you got it!

My all natural soy candles have been optimized for strong scent throw while burning. If you are going to burn a candle, what is the point if you can't smell it? My candles have been engineered to fill the whole room, if not the whole house!  I scent them as heavily as I possibly can without throwing off the chemistry of the candle.  All my candle products are made with 100% natural vegan soy wax with all natural wicks in either cotton or wood.  Further, I guarantee all of my candles.  If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return the candle for a replacement or a refund. (every once is a while, there is a bad wick that won’t stay lit.)   I also offer a refill program if you are local.  If you return your empty jar, you only pay 50 cents per ounce!  I will also fill containers of your own choosing, as long as they look like they will withstand the heat.

Candles have what is called a “cold throw” and a “hot throw”.  Cold throw is how they smell when they are not lit, hot throw is how they smell when they are lit.  All candles that I regularly offer have been fully tested to optimize their HOT throw.  Most places optimize cold throw to try to get you to take it home with you, then don’t care if you are happy after that.  Not here!  Also, the bigger the surface area of the melt and the flame, the stronger the candle will smell.  So keep that in mind as you make your selections.

Also known as the Loaf or Log Candle, these 4 wick long low candles hold 18 ounces of wax that burn for approximately 100 hours.  These have become my new best seller, because they have such a huge surface area of melt.  They are $12 for one color or $13 for multiple colors.

The more wicks and surface area, the more scent throw!  This is the powerhouse of fragrance.  Nice thick glass means you can refill it over and over again for only $9 each refill!
